One under
Feb 17 - 21 | Vault festival, Theatre Deli
One day a man stepped in front of a train. One day a man discovered how genes control behaviour. One day I fell over wearing a giant bear suit. Life can change, our genes can change, our minds can change. Let’s talk.
Amy wonders if she’s mental. She wonders this a lot. She’s not sure if this is a politically correct thing to say out loud – but she has been told that talking definitely helps. When Amy was four, her father jumped in front of a train. The event bleeds into her present, leaving a trail of half memories about the man that was; a legacy of wonder.
One Under is a solo performance which uses treatment models and live gameplay to unlock how talking is a gamechanger, with the power to alter our genetic fabric and social norms.
